Wilson Avenue has the potential to be a great commercial destination for residents from all over Toronto but needs a renewed commitment from local businesses and the City. We have started the process for creating a Business Improvement Area (BIA) on Wilson Avenue.

A BIA is an association of commercial property owners and tenants within a defined area who work in partnership with the City to create thriving, competitive, and safe business areas that attract shoppers, diners, tourists, and new businesses.

Twenty-five local business owners attended a Wilson Avenue Business Improvement Area information meeting we hosted. Mike Major, Manager of the City’s BIA Office, conducted a presentation and took questions from the attendees. Many business owners have already shown an interest in proceeding with the BIA and a Steering Committee has been formed.
