The TTC has formally requested that the City of Toronto close the Allen Road northbound from Eglinton Avenue West to Lawrence Avenue West for 12 months starting in January 2014. The reason for this request is to facilitate the construction of underground bored tunnels from Eglinton West Station to Yonge Station for the Crosstown LRT. By closing Allen Road for 12 months the Crosstown project would be completed 9 months earlier.

This request will be reviewed and debated by the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee and City Council this fall. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any thoughts or questions regarding this proposal.  I will continue to update you on any developments.
