There are early subway closures happening October 29th to November 1st to expedite modernization of its subway signalling system and carry out important maintenance. Line 1 Yonge-University will close between Sheppard West and St Clair West stations at 11 p.m. Shuttle buses will run and Wheel-Trans will provide service to customers requiring accessible connections.
The early closures tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday night will allow the TTC to extend Automatic Train Control (ATC) operations south of Sheppard West Station to Spadina Station by the end of this year. Currently the system is only operational between Sheppard West and Vaughan Metropolitan Centre stations. Thursday’s early closure is for state of good repair and winter preparedness work.
Similar early closings are scheduled for next week, Nov. 5-8 between Spadina and St. Andrew stations. Additional early week night closings are also planned for next spring.
