I joined local dog owners and residents to celebrate the opening of the new Earl Bales Park Dogs’ off-leash zone.
This off-leash zone is a great community asset. It accommodates the needs of dog owners and their pets while at the same time ensuring that the rest of the park remains on-leash.
We worked with city staff and the local community throughout the winter to ensure we had the best site option and design possible. This was based on local geography and budgetary restrictions. We have tried to incorporate a wide range of opinions into the final construction. Everyone is to be congratulated for their input and work on this project.
A second Ward 10 off-leash zone will be opening in the coming weeks at G. Lord Ross Park, near Dufferin Road.
I’d also like to thank the local Starbucks and Pet Valu for supporting this event.
